“Most successful” because I got more sharp shots than I’ve ever managed to get in a single flight series in the past and because several of them are among my favorite photos of the species, in flight or not.
I can be guilty of paying less attention to ducks on my blog than I should. Today I make some amends.
I’m sure this photo from yesterday morning will quickly become one of my favorite shots of a Great Blue Heron in flight. I actually managed to get a long series of them, some of which I like as well or even better than this one.

A fun ‘first bird’ on my trip to Bear River MBR two days ago. In some ways he turned out to be my best bird.
