Yesterday morning in the Wasatch Mountains I was only able to get a single quality image of a bird and this is it. But it’s a species I’ve only photographed once in the past so I was delighted to get it, especially since I like the warm fall background colors as much as I do.
Sometimes I should be much more careful when choosing a single image from a series to post on Feathered Photography.
As I occasionally do I went archive-diving last night and ran across a series of Snowy Egret photos I like that I’ve never posted on Feathered Photography. Some of my inexperience in those days may show in the images but I still enjoy them and of course the reminiscing.
Yup, another Yellow Warbler. But yesterday morning I caught one doing something kind of interesting.
Gray Catbirds are an elusive subject for me so I chalk up every decent shot I get of one into the victory column.
My time with this bird and others ended prematurely because of an encounter with a porcupine. A dead porcupine at that.
Sometimes I blabber on too much in my posts so this morning I’ll try to make up for it with a short and sweet edition of Feathered Photography.
Neither have I (although they do have a crest) but yesterday I found a waxwing that sure looked like it had a topknot of some kind.
It’s often little things like the subtle survival skills of birds that interest me most.
This apparent contentment of parent and offspring just struck me, though when I think about it I know it’s just a temporary illusion.
And this time she did it so well she eventually quit walking and simply flew the last leg of it.
