Juvenile Golden Eagle In Flight

This is one of the better views I have of the field marks of a juvenile Golden Eagle in flight.

It wasn’t much of an assist but just the fact that the magpie could/would do it for so little gain amazed me.

Now that much of the preliminary work for this project has been done HawkWatch International needs eyes. Lots of eyes.

In my area Black-billed Magpies are among our earliest nesters.

Yesterday I visited with old friends at HawkWatch International and met their new education bird, a flashy little male Merlin.

Plus a national embarrassment for Utah.

Plus a rare landscape/waterscape image from me.

I’m quite excited about this news from HWI.

I was amazed when this photo turned out as well as it did in such low light.
