Juvenile Bullock’s Oriole And Chokecherries

A species I rarely have a chance with in the wild but my luck changed yesterday morning.

Plus a surprise critter a few minutes earlier yesterday morning.

Geez, what some birds will do just to get at a sweet and juicy berry.

And it isn’t a nesting material you see every day.

An adult in flight feeding one of its fledglings. And let’s just say it’s being done enthusiastically by both participants.

And both of them were in or very near Montana’s Centennial Valley. I’ll bet some of my readers already know what species constructed them.

If I remember correctly, and I believe I do, what this bird was really coming in for was a fight.

When it comes to my photography sometimes I think simple is best and photos don’t come much simpler than this one.

Yesterday morning in the Wasatch Mountains I photographed my first juvenile of this species.

These are some of the most exciting raptor photos I’ve ever taken.
