Photographing An American Kestrel (and a friend) In A Near-blizzard

When it’s snowing this hard times are tough for both critters and photographers.

Methinks I sometimes bitch too much when unexpected inclement weather forces me to stay home instead of going shooting as I planned.

This bird was sporting its own icy “charm” in flight.

Because of a processing conundrum I’ve never posted this photo before.

This adult Bald Eagle showed unusual tolerance toward a brazen and seemingly clueless immature companion.

Late yesterday afternoon this thoughtful grebe took pity on me and saved my day at almost the last minute.

And then posing nicely afterward.

I don’t post photos of terns very often so I figured it’s high time I did.
