Female Mountain Bluebird In Flight

I have a low success rate with this kind of shot, especially with Mountain Bluebirds.

It isn’t easy to get a running bird sharp.

And the main reason birds show up in my garden? Amaranth.

Just because I like it.

A species I don’t get a lot of chances with.

And a lesson in paying attention to detail in my images.

Preparing wild thistle seeds for consumption is more complicated and delicate than one might think.

The potential was there but except for some interesting behavior near the end I might as well have stayed home.

A female, I think.
