1\/5000, f\/7.1, ISO 500, Canon 7D Mark II, Canon EF 500mm f\/4L IS II USM + EF 1.4 III Extender, not baited, set up or called in<\/em><\/p>\n For me few birds personify elegance and grace\u00a0in flight\u00a0more than\u00a0some tern species\u00a0and the little Forster’s Tern is one of them (this one was photographed eleven days ago at Bear River MBR).<\/p>\n Some tern flight poses are more dynamic than this one but for me it’s the length of that long and\u00a0slender wing that caught my eye. The perfectly vertical angle of the wing immediately\u00a0had me doing a visual comparison of body length to wing length and it became obvious that the wing is considerably longer than the body is long. Their slender and lightly built\u00a0bodies, long forked tails and\u00a0long narrow wings make them absolutely superb fliers.<\/p>\n Here the background is water and with those subtle wave textures and colors\u00a0I much prefer it over plain blue sky.<\/p>\n It’s a simple image but I do like it.<\/p>\n Ron<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" There’s no fish in this one but I like the elegance of the tern in flight.<\/p>\n
