1\/2500, f\/6.3, ISO 500, Canon 7D Mark II, Canon EF 500mm f\/4L IS II USM + EF 1.4 III Extender, not baited, set up or called in<\/em><\/p>\nIn my experience it’s quite a\u00a0unique image with the hawk in this flight posture so close to the rocks and with its tail drastically\u00a0rotated to near-vertical. And I think the shadow adds another interesting dimension (especially with those pitchfork-like talons).\u00a0Perhaps it’s going after prey, or landing, or it’s somehow out of control for some reason. A defense or attack posture maybe? Play-fighting with another hawk out of frame?\u00a0Something else?<\/p>\n
I’ll give you two hints – there’s a nest nearby and there’s another hint in\u00a0my previous\u00a0paragraph.<\/p>\n
