I never know what might happen to my daily blog posting schedule once I reach the wilds of Montana on one of my many camping trips to my home state. This morning I woke up to no cell signal at all so there was no way I could post (I use a mobile hotspot to access the internet).<\/p>\n

So I spent much\u00a0of the morning looking for a new campsite that met my need for relative solitude but still had internet access and I finally found one. It was about 50 miles away from the original campsite (mostly on dirt roads) but we’ve now completed the move and anticipate no more problems with posting.<\/p>\n

This was my view at dawn this morning overlooking a pond next to Lower Red Rock Lake in the background. Lake fog is lifting off the lake (it was 24 degrees at dawn) and there are feeding avocets in the foreground pond. I’m no landscape photographer but this image should give you a feel for why I love it up here so much.<\/p>\n

Now that I have a “home” again hopefully I’ll be able to get down to some serious bird photography.<\/p>\n
