Just like this Horned Lark, that’s exactly what I’m doing on this trip to southern Utah so far – chasing my own shadow.<\/p>\n

\nThis is only a novelty shot but it fits my situation. I can’t access the Greater Sage Grouse lek because there’s too much snow in the high country, I’ve located a few Sandhill Cranes but I’m spinning my wheels with them for a variety of reasons and birds have generally been uncooperative when I could find them. So far I have shots of a red-tail on a pole and a kestrel on a wire. I consider that “skunked”.<\/p>\n

And to top it all off internet access is virtually nonexistent. Time will tell if I can even post this.<\/p>\n

Reaching for the deeply buried optimist in me I can only hope that both birds and technology will be more cooperative today.<\/p>\n
