Sometimes it really is “all about the light”.<\/p>\n

For me, the angle and quality of light make this shot (even though I like the perch and love the background).\u00a0 It was taken soon after sunrise on Antelope Island this past May Day.\u00a0 The upper background is the Great Salt Lake with mudflats below.\u00a0 Sharp eyes may notice a small errant feather in the shade at the upper margin of the\u00a0left wing.\u00a0\u00a0 The feather could be easily removed\u00a0 but for this presentation I\u00a0chose to let it remain.<\/p>\n

Chukars on the island have been scarce for many months now.\u00a0 I just checked my files and the last one I photographed there was on 25 May, 2014.\u00a0 Hopefully they’re all hiding out in the more remote and inaccessible areas and will reappear\u00a0when the cold temperatures hit and the snow flies in earnest.\u00a0 I miss seeing (and hearing) them.<\/p>\n
