I photographed this magnificent hawk a few days ago as it flew off a power pole in Utah’s west desert.\u00a0 Even though the sky color is pretty intense I\u00a0like the eye contact and the light and detail under the right wing.\u00a0 I’ve seen fewer Ferrugs than usual this summer so I especially enjoyed this encounter with our largest buteo.<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0 I’m\u00a0on the road again (sorry about the Willie Nelson ear worm…)\u00a0and likely will be for much of\u00a0the week.\u00a0 As usual for these camping\/photo trips I’ve prepared\u00a0posts to be published in my absence but\u00a0I’ll mostly be without internet access so I won’t be very active here while I’m gone.\u00a0 I do enjoy reading any comments you may make on my phone, though.<\/em><\/p>\n
