<\/p>\nThis past spring was a pretty good one around here for Sage Thrashers.\u00a0 There were more of them and they seemed more cooperative than usual.<\/p>\n

1\/4000, f\/6.3, ISO 500, Canon 7D, Canon EF500mm f\/4L IS II USM, not baited, set up or called in<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n I photographed this one on May 8 on Antelope Island.\u00a0 I deleted most of the shots because they were head-on and didn’t include a good look at the tail but when it started to groom and raised its wing I thought the behavior and wing angle made up for the mostly missing tail.\u00a0 Usually when they do this they close their nictitating membrane over the eye but I was lucky with the timing on this shot.<\/p>\n Ron<\/p>\n Note:\u00a0 I’m on an extended camping\/photo trip to Montana and\u00a0internet access\u00a0is intermittent at best so I won’t be able to respond to\u00a0comments that may be posted\u00a0(though I do get the comment emails on my phone when I have a signal and I enjoy reading them).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This past spring was a pretty good one around here for Sage Thrashers.
