{"id":24598,"date":"2014-06-18T04:53:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-18T10:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.featheredphotography.com\/blog\/?p=24598"},"modified":"2014-06-18T04:57:46","modified_gmt":"2014-06-18T10:57:46","slug":"fledgling-yellow-headed-blackbird-begging-for-and-then-recieving-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/featheredphotography.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/18\/fledgling-yellow-headed-blackbird-begging-for-and-then-recieving-food\/","title":{"rendered":"Fledgling Yellow-headed Blackbird, Begging For And Then Receiving Food"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been stuck in the house for what seems like an eternity because of the gloomy weather and lack of light.\u00a0 It rained all day yesterday (which is unusual for us here in the semi-desert)\u00a0and I keep thinking of all the\u00a0early summer\u00a0bird activity I&#8217;m missing so this morning I reached back into the archives for some shots that would remind me of what I&#8217;m not seeing and photographing.\u00a0 I&#8217;m a glutton for punishment&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The nest of Yellow-headed Blackbirds is always constructed over water and fixed to dead or live vegetation.\u00a0 Young birds leave the nest early, as soon as 7 days after hatching but usually from 9-12 days, so they&#8217;re not yet\u00a0capable of flight.\u00a0 They perch on the rim of the nest and explore surrounding vegetation and they&#8217;re extremely vocal (annoyingly and incessantly\u00a0so &#8211;
