{"id":515,"date":"2010-09-06T19:03:34","date_gmt":"2010-09-07T01:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/featheredphotography.wordpress.com\/"},"modified":"2020-02-17T12:13:37","modified_gmt":"2020-02-17T19:13:37","slug":"about-this-blog","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/featheredphotography.com\/blog\/about-this-blog\/","title":{"rendered":"About This Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have three primary goals with Feathered Photography &#8211; to showcase a few of my images, to document interesting bird behaviors and\u00a0to illustrate and discuss different aspects of bird and nature photography.<\/p>\n<p>The photoblogs of many serious photographers tend to feature their best work exclusively\u00a0&#8211; high quality images with broad appeal. That won&#8217;t always be the case here. While I intend to often post\u00a0high quality\u00a0images, there will be exceptions, especially\u00a0when the post involves bird behaviors. For those kinds of posts I&#8217;m of the opinion that documenting the behavior sometimes trumps the requrement of\u00a0high image quality. When I\u00a0take photos of interesting or unique behaviors that may not be perfect in composition, sharpness or light I&#8217;m still likely to post them when I think the behavior is documented well. Animal behavior has been high on my list of interests since I took my first college class\u00a0in Vertebrate Behavior many years ago and my intention is to pursue that interest with Feathered Photography.<\/p>\n<p>I suspect that most of my posts will involve birds in one way or another but don&#8217;t be surprised by the occasional &#8220;hiccup&#8221;, posts that include images of critters other than birds or almost any other natural subject.\u00a0\u00a0What I <em>can<\/em> promise you however\u00a0is that my images won&#8217;t be heavily manipulated, my light will always be natural (no flash), \u00a0my\u00a0subjects\u00a0won&#8217;t be artificially called in or &#8220;set up&#8221;\u00a0and they will never be baited.
