Harsh midday light is not the photographer’s friend but the warm glow of the ‘golden hour’ is transitory and often elusive, especially if you aren’t a ‘morning person’.
The combination of cold frost and warm light almost sounds like a contradiction but those were the conditions I was dealing with yesterday morning soon after dawn.
Unless it’s breeding season it’s unusual for me to photograph a bonded pair of adult Red-tailed Hawks hanging out together but yesterday morning I managed to do just that.
