The coyote obviously had crane cutlets in mind for breakfast but the cranes seemed to be taunting him, even daring him to attack. The attitude and demeanor of the cranes seemed to say “Give it your best shot, Buster”.

Yes, I know. I’m posting the same species in back-to-back posts again. But this is a different heron, at a different place at the refuge and both the circumstances and the setting are very different from my previous post.
“Most successful” because I got more sharp shots than I’ve ever managed to get in a single flight series in the past and because several of them are among my favorite photos of the species, in flight or not.
