Dark-eyed Juncos are a species I rarely feature on Feathered Photography which seems illogical for such an abundant, ubiquitous, conspicuous and often tame bird.
Chipping Sparrow, Sage Thrasher and Northern Mockingbird. And it’s an attractive perch too so at first glance one might assume these photos had been set up. They weren’t.
When I have to choose between shutter speed and depth of field I usually lean towards faster SS’s. Sometimes it pays dividends and sometimes it doesn’t.
