In 16 years of photographing birds I’d only seen a Wilson’s Phalarope chick once and that guy was half-grown. Three days ago at Bear River MBR I photographed phalarope chicks that were much younger. (9 photos)
Like most days in the field yesterday had its ups and downs. I was excited to photograph a phalarope chick but a glitch with my primary camera really threw me for a loop.
