I’ve had occasional distant and cluttered glimpses of Spotted Towhees over the years but quality photographs of them have always eluded me. Until yesterday.
I often see groups of harriers off in the distance but it’s rare for me to be close enough to photograph two different birds in such a short time span. And this time one of them was an adult male – the elusive “gray ghost”.
Several Belted Kingfishers have been wintering in the Farmington area and as of late they’ve been slightly more cooperative than is typical of the species.
