It’s my tendency to appreciate native bird species more than I do those that have been introduced but right or wrong I tend to make an exception for the California Quail.
For a variety of reasons this might have been my most rewarding session ever with a family of Western Grebes and I actually had five of them to play with.
I rarely get photos that actually show these red shafts because they usually can’t be seen when the bird is perched and I seldom get photos of flickers in flight.
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted any curlew photos but these migratory birds recently returned to northern Utah and my first opportunity to photograph them up close this year was three days ago on Antelope Island.
