One of the fun things about takeoff shots is that a bird with little promise for interesting photos while it’s perched can instantly translate into exciting photos when it lifts off.
The combination of cold frost and warm light almost sounds like a contradiction but those were the conditions I was dealing with yesterday morning soon after dawn.

With Northern Harriers erratic flight comes with the territory so I’ve come to expect it but soon after this female took off yesterday morning she almost juked me out of my shoes.
