When it’s this cold and snowy Barn Owls are flying during daytime over much of northern Utah. They’re often not easy to find but when you do locate one they can be fairly cooperative.
Sometimes I can’t explain well why I like an image – it just “grabs” me for some reason. In this case it’s for what I perceived as personal interaction with me.
Young Burrowing Owls are endlessly entertaining. Last month in Box Elder County, Utah I watched this juvenile attempt to deal with a rather strong wind in a novel way.
