Clark’s Grebe – Drying Off That Foot

Grebes have some unusual physical features and behaviors.

Something just a little bit different this morning.

It’s difficult to get some folks excited about Horned Larks but when things go right I’m not one of them.

Both of these birds did something out of the ordinary as they interacted with each other and with me.

Bird behaviors fascinate me but some of these have me stumped.

Willets make a transformation from drab to splashy when they open their wings.

A departure for me this morning, from feathers to fur.

I’m posting this image for its shortcomings, not for its strengths.

These curlews performed some intense and protracted courtship displays that were fascinating to watch and photograph.

As much as I try to avoid cloning elements out of my images it does tempt me occasionally. And in some cases doing so may not even be desirable.
