Wilson’s Warbler On Sumac Berries

This black-capped rascal was one of the most exasperating birds I ever aimed my lens at.

And all three of them involved birds and wildlife in some way.

Landing with a vole, eating it and then going after another one.

Some near-misses sting more than others.

Plus some of the challenges I’m facing right now that affect my blogging and may do so in the future.

There are more very similar colors in these photos than you can shake the proverbial stick at.

Sometimes a guy (or gal) just isn’t in the mood for cuddlin’.

Largely because of all I learned from him this may be my favorite individual bird I’ve ever photographed.

I don’t post photos of Turkey Vultures often but yesterday, International Vulture Awareness Day, was perfect timing to have an encounter with them.

It took me years to realize what saved this image. Prepare yourself for some photo and bird geekiness as I explain.
