A more comprehensive look at the Mountain Blubird pair near their nest cavity in the mountains.

I don’t see a photo like this one every day and I look at an enormous number of bird photographs.

If you’re going to dig or maintain a burrow in spring you’re very likely to end up looking a little like a kid who’s been playing in the mud.

I look for Mountain Bluebirds nesting in natural cavities every spring but rarely find them. Yesterday I finally did but the shooting was tough.

If you pay attention you just never know what you’ll encounter “out there”.

I rarely succeed with this type of shot but yesterday was an exception.
