Kingfisher Takeoff (not a dive)

And a close to perfect landing spot.

It’s been a while since I had any luck with my favorite Belted Kingfisher but yesterday morning he came through for me once again.

Unidentified or not this bird deserves to be seen.

One of my most elusive subjects.

‘Posing perfectly’ and raptor chicks almost never go together but this time was an exception.

A visitor to be wary of.

Lazuli Buntings, males in particular, are conspicuous and well known in many western states. And they’re among the most beautiful birds I photograph.

My first decent photos of this species. I’m gobsmacked by their beauty.

Mostly female Broad-tailed Hummingbirds. I think.
