For about half of the year most Chukars on Antelope Island are shy and inaccessible in more remote areas of the island but when spring rolls around they come out to play.
Two days ago I visited Bear River MBR on the first full day it was open after being closed because of flooding. It was an interesting preview of things to come.
I rarely appreciate “accidental” birds in my photos competing with the primary subject. But there are exceptions and it happened twice with this landing American White Pelican.
None of these photos is an award-winner but for disparate reasons each one grabs me just a little and I’ll mention why in this post. All of them were taken in the last several weeks.
Occasionally I take a photograph that seems to defy (my faulty?) logic. And when that happens I probably spend more time pondering over it than I should.
