I like bird photography that includes significant hints at habitat. That goal is typically more difficult to achieve with flight shots than static shots but it can be done and this image is an example.
I’ve documented a relatively insignificant but interesting and even amusing event in the life of a bird and I even managed to get a shot that I often attempt but rarely get with this species.
I realize that some folks aren’t big fans of Canada Geese. But I’ve got’em, I shoot what’s available and if I like the photos I post’em.
And I like these.
It’s ironic that the incident with Captain Sully Sullenberger’s flight 1549 was caused by bird strikes that completely disabled both engines because the species involved was the Canada Goose.
I can like photos of any bird species no matter how common and believe it or not I actually got a flight shot I like yesterday, despite our inversion and gunky air.
