We often think of reflections of birds in water as being exact upside down copies of the birds themselves but that’s just not the case, even when the water is as smooth as glass. “Mirror images” aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.
These aren’t serious images, in fact I’d probably categorize them as novelty photos. But I still find them visually interesting and somehow they seem appropriate for Saturday morning.
I have so few quality images of stilts in flight I could count them on the legs of my tripod. But now I’d need an octopod just to count the nice flight images I captured yesterday of this single bird.
Like most days in the field yesterday had its ups and downs. I was excited to photograph a phalarope chick but a glitch with my primary camera really threw me for a loop.
