I always carry another camera attached to my 100-400mm lens in my pickup no matter where I go and sometimes it pays off. Doing so allowed me to get this unexpected ten image series that I think is quite interesting.
Catch lights are highly desirable, to the point that many bird photographers simply delete any photo that doesn’t have them (a painful process, to be sure).
I rarely appreciate “accidental” birds in my photos competing with the primary subject. But there are exceptions and it happened twice with this landing American White Pelican.
None of these photos is an award-winner but for disparate reasons each one grabs me just a little and I’ll mention why in this post. All of them were taken in the last several weeks.
Occasionally I take a photograph that seems to defy (my faulty?) logic. And when that happens I probably spend more time pondering over it than I should.
