Regular readers will remember my post of two weeks ago where I documented the heartbreaking story of this Barn Owl entangled in barbed wire in the Centennial Valley of Montana.
Sometimes I can’t explain well why I like an image – it just “grabs” me for some reason. In this case it’s for what I perceived as personal interaction with me.
Most of the Great Horned Owls I post were photographed in Montana. This one’s from Utah and it demonstrates some interesting geographic variation in color.
Whenever I visit the northwest Montana farm where I grew up I feel like I’m returning home. It’s been 50 years since I actually lived there but I don’t think that feeling will ever leave me.
Please do not pin my images on Pinterest, Tumblr or any other pinning site or social media or use them for anything else without my express permission (and that includes using them as models for paintings, drawings or tattoos etc.).
