There’s a fantastic and brand new resource out there for serious students of birds from John Hopkins University Press and it contains three of my bird photographs so I hope you’ll allow me a little horn tootin’ today. Let’s have a closer look at this massive new book.
I needed a stress reliever and this post is it. My stress level has been incredibly high for the last few days because of a serious medical scare and I don’t handle even routine stress well.
Raptors in particular are known for repeatedly using the same perch, sometimes over a period of years. And sometimes they’re used by more than one raptor species so it behooves the bird photographer to check them out regularly. If raptors like’m, I like’m – even when they’re less than photogenic.
In the past I’ve discussed the many reasons why I prefer to photograph birds of any species in the few hours after sunrise so I won’t repeat myself here. But yesterday morning I was reminded of yet another reason that applies specifically to owls.
Please do not pin my images on Pinterest, Tumblr or any other pinning site or social media or use them for anything else without my express permission (and that includes using them as models for paintings, drawings or tattoos etc.).
