Three days ago I stopped and talked to friend Jerry Ellison along the refuge road at Farmington and he informed me he’d photographed a cooperative Barn Owl at dawn.
I almost didn’t go shooting yesterday because birds have been slow but one of my mantras is “you never know unless you go”, so go I went. I’m very glad I did.
Normally Barn Owls are a strictly nocturnal species so photographs of them in flight are difficult to come by. After all, photography does require light.
Yesterday was a good day. Despite the “soup” in our valleys I was able to get some shots that begin to confirm that my lens may be working properly again and I met one of my blog followers from out-of-town.
