The wildfire smoke finally subsided enough for me to get up into the mountains yesterday. Once again hummingbirds were on the agenda and this time they were really feeling their oats…err, nectar.
This was another instance where I didn’t know what I’d photographed until I reviewed my images at home. That happens often with hummingbirds because they’re so incredibly fast.
I’ve photographed a variety of songbirds, wading birds and raptors throwing pellets but yesterday was the first time I’ve been able to document a wren of any species exhibiting the behavior.
