Photographing bathing birds is always fun but getting quality photos during all the pandemonium isn’t easy, especially when a black bird with a white bill is involved.
During a coot chase I can seldom see both birds in my photos. In this series I can. The following five images are presented in the order they were taken with no skips.
American Coots are raucous and quarrelsome birds that can be counted on to stick their noses into everybody else’s business. That personality trait provides countless interesting opportunities for the photographer who’s prepared to take advantage of them.
