The setting for this series, photographed yesterday morning in the mountains, is cluttered with branches and twigs but that’s part of the point of this post.
I thought I might never capture this flight posture in a songbird during my entire career as a bird photographer. For me it’s only happened a single time and it very likely won’t happen again.
If you’re using a DSLR camera you aren’t photographing what you’re seeing through the viewfinder. Two days ago that phenomenon was responsible for me photographing a magpie that I had no clue I’d photographed.
