I have fewer opportunities with hummingbirds than many bird photographers because I won’t photograph them at setups (or flash them). I much prefer a natural setting, natural light and behaviors that haven’t been coerced.
Eared Grebes are by far the most abundant grebe species on the planet and we have gazillions of them here in northern Utah. But they sure can be difficult to approach.

Stealing food from spiders can be a risky business. Bullock’s Orioles are known to do it but from the reaction of this bird I’d say he’s aware of the potential danger of doing so.
