Some history of the “glory days” with Bald Eagles at Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area and some thoughts on what potentially happened to those days.
For me at least Peregrine Falcons are usually unapproachable but occasionally when they’ve had prey I’ve been able to get close enough for quality photos. That’s why I appreciate the sacrifice of this American Coot.
Critters use sunflowers for a variety of reasons. They don’t have to be in bloom to be useful to birds and wildlife but when they are they sure brighten up some of my photos. When they aren’t they allow me to photograph feeding behavior like I did yesterday.
I thought this bird pulled off a pretty nifty trick but it happened so fast I didn’t even know it had occurred until I arrived home and looked at my photos.
