A reasonable facsimile of what I look like early in the morning.
1/4000, f/5.6, ISO 800, Canon 7D Mark II, Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM + EF 1.4 III Extender, not baited, set up or called in
Three days ago this Song Sparrow in the mountains popped up out of vegetation and landed on this twig. “He” was wet and scruffy-looking, obviously due to a recent bath in the stream below the perch. He shook himself off for about three seconds and then flew away but I was able to get a few shots off and I like this one most.
I’m posting it because his scruffiness amuses me. It reminds me of what I look like early in the morning while I’m composing my blog posts.
Like about right now.
Ron
Disheveled-ness be damned, this is such a great shot!
Here’s to life with less scrutiny.
Cheers
I look like this AFTER I’ve gotten ready (don’t even ask about before!). π
I wonder what he’d think if he knew you got a picture of him just out of the shower. π
I think that’s why he only stayed on that perch for a couple of seconds. He saw my lens pointed his way and vamoosed.
Sadly my scruffy self isn’t a fraction as endearing as a freshly bathed bird. Not early, not late.
That could probably be said for me too.
HA! π I can SO relate! Doesn’t improve much until coffee in involved either…… π Great shot! π A new to me thing – Grackles using an old Magpie nest…….
It takes more than just coffee to improve my appearance, Judy.
Another example of recycling by birds.
Me too but does wake me up enough to think perhaps I should do something about it……. π
Donβt know how you achieved that soft pastel background, but it complements the subject very nicely.
No sags and creases visible on this guy so his βmorningβ look has me beat by a mile. One of the advantages of feathers or fur.
I wish I had created it, Lyle. That way I could do it again… Good point about feathers and fur!
Hahaha I can relate. π
π
Bet you are not as hansome, Ron thanks for the photo
That would be a very safe bet, Diana.
Time for some serious grooming. Well Ron, I am sitting here responding showered,shaved,spit-shined, and ready to go like all US Navy vets at 5 am.:):) Great shot thanks for sharing.
Can’t take the Navy out of old sailors, huh Everett. Thanks.
Oh god, where is my comb! right! i’m bald, really? Oh boy do I look that terrible? yep! That is me in the AM.
Fortunately, this guy doesn’t have a mirror to look into! Great shot, can’t stop chuckling.
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Dick. Thanks.
‘Just washed my hair and can’t do a thing with it’! Love this π ! A great catch.
p.s. I think we all resemble this as we read your a.m. posts! π
Thanks, Kathy. Sometimes I’m shocked when I finally look in a mirror after composing my posts. Is that really me?
