We had a very exciting morning on Antelope Island.
We located two Mountain Plovers – a lifer for both Mia and I. We spent a long time with them and I got many nice photos. I just now got them downloaded and picked this one almost randomly to post.
More photos tomorrow of both birds but for now I’ve got loads of culling and processing to do.
Ron
Congratulations. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s post with more of this stunning little bird. Am I right in thinking it is a lifetime’s quest? Here at any rate there are always more. More birds I would love to see, and more birds I would love to see more of.
What a bird! And as always you nailed the shot. Can’t wait to see more. Another catch up session, and I’m loving it! I love the Bittern the most. Those birds are something else!
Congratulations on a new bird! And a beautiful one at that! Superb quality of the randomly-picked sample! Can’t wait to see the “good” ones! 🙂
Wow- that is a strikingly beautiful little bird captured wonderfully. Congratulations on your sighting!
Yes, they are beautiful, Mike. I’m enamored…
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing the wonderful shot!
Thank you, Charlotte.
Congrats Ron! Wished I was there! 🙂
We wish you had been too, Steve. In fact, on the way home we commented to each other how you would probably have loved to have been able to see and photograph these little beauties. Next time you’ll have to weather the storm and stay longer…
Congratulations Ron for your lifer ! It’s not every day that we can accomplish that in our usual surroundings. And the photo is great ! Let’s see more tomorrow !
Lifers are fun to get, Laval. They don’t happen often for me. I’m sure there’ll be more tomorrow if my eyes don’t fall out of my head first from culling and processing.
Man, the light is just right on this bird and the feather edges are supurb!! Excellent Ron, love to carve and paint this plover! Just beautiful!
Thanks, Dick. I liked the plumage detail too.
Speaking of processing, I like what you do. Quite often I see photos so overly sharpened I think my eyes are going to bleed.
Really like the fine detail of the edge of the feathers and the background is great!
Gary, I agree with you. Too much sharpening (and saturation) are pet peeves of mine.
